【摘要】:Materialpropertiesdeterminedbythistestmethodareusefulforqualitycontrolofglass-fiberreinforcedconcrete,ascertainingcompliancewithgoverningspecifications,andresearchanddevelopment.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationsofdryandwetbulkdensity,waterabsorption,andapparentporosityofthinsectionsofglass-fiberreinforcedconcrete.Note18212;Thistestmethoddoesnotinvolveadeterminationofabsolutespecificgravity.Therefore,suchporespaceasmaybepresentinthespecimenthatisnotemptiedduringthespecifieddryingorisnotfilledwithwaterduringthespecifiedimmersionisconsidered"impermeable"andisnotdifferentiatedfromthesolidportionofthespecimenforthecalculations,especiallythoseforpercentvoids.Dependingupontheporesizedistributionandtheporeentryradiiofthespecimenandonthepurposesforwhichthetestresultsaredesired,theproceduresofthismethodmaybeadequate,ortheymaybeinsufficientlyrigorous.Intheeventthatitisdesiredtofillmoreoftheporesthanwillbefilledbyimmersion,varioustechniquesinvolvingtheuseofvacuumtreatmentorincreasedpressuremaybeused.Ifarigorousmeasureoftotalporespaceisdesired,thiscanonlybeobtainedbydeterminingabsolutespecificgravitybyfirstreducingthesampletodiscreteparticles,eachofwhichissufficientlysmallsothatnoimpermeablespacecanexistwithinanyoftheparticles.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
