【摘要】:1.1Thesetestmethodscoverlaboratorycompactionmethodsusedtodeterminetherelationshipbetweenmoldingwatercontentanddryunitweightofsoils(compactioncurve)compactedina4or6-in.(101.6or152.4-mm)diametermoldwitha5.50-lbf(24.5-N)rammerdroppedfromaheightof12.0in.(305mm)producingacompactiveeffortof12400ft-lbf/ft3(600kN-m/m3).Note1TheequipmentandproceduresaresimilarasthoseproposedbyR.R.Proctor(EngineeringNewsRecord-September7,1933)withthisonemajorexception:hisrammerblowswereappliedas"12inchfirmstrokes"insteadoffreefall,producingvariablecompactiveeffortdependingontheoperator,butprobablyintherange15000to25000ft-lbf/ft3(700to1200kN-m/m3).Thestandardefforttest(see)issometimesreferredtoastheProctorTest.1.1.1Soilsandsoil-aggregatemixturesaretoberegardedasnaturaloccurringfine-orcoarse-grainedsoils,orcompositesormixturesofnaturalsoils,ormixturesofnaturalandprocessedsoilsoraggregatessuchasgravelorcrushedrock.Hereafterreferredtoaseithersoilormaterial.1.2Thesetestmethodsapplyonlytosoils(materials)thathave30%orlessbymassofparticlesretainedonthe3/4-in.(19.0-mm)sieveandhavenotbeenpreviouslycompactedinthelaboratory;thatis,donotreusecompactedsoil.1.2.1Forrelationshipsbetweenunitweightsandmoldingwatercontentsofsoilswith30%orlessbymassofmaterialretainedonthe3/4-in.(19.0-mm)sievetounitweightsandmoldingwatercontentsofthefractionpassing3/4-in.(19.0-mm)sieve,seePracticeD4718.1.3Threealternativemethodsareprovided.Themethodusedshallbeasindicatedinthespecificationforthematerialbeingtested.Ifnomethodisspecified,thechoiceshouldbebasedonthematerialgradation.1.3.1MethodA:Mold4-in.(101.6-mm)diameter.MaterialPassingNo.4(4.75-mm)sieve.LayersThree.BlowsperLayer25.UsageMaybeusedif25%orless(seeSection1.4)bymassofthematerialisretainedontheNo.4(4.75-mm)sieve.OtherUsageIfthisgradationrequirementcannotbemet,thenMethodCmaybeused.1.3.2MethodBMold4-in.(101.6-mm)diameter.MaterialPassing3/8-in.(9.5-mm)sieve.LayersThree.BlowsperLayer25.UsageMaybeusedif25%orless(seeSection)bymassofthematerialisretainedonthe3/8-in.(9.5-mm)sieve.OtherUsageIfthisgradationrequirementcannotbemet,thenMethodCmaybeused.1.3.3MethodC-Mold6-in.(152.4-mm)diameter.MaterialPassing3/4-in.(19.0-mm)sieve.LayersThree.BlowsperLayer56.UsageMaybeusedif30%orless(seeSection1.4)bymassofthematerialisretainedonthe3/4-in.(19.0-mm)sieve.1.3.4The6-in.(152.4-mm)diametermoldshallnotbeusedwithMethodAorB.Note2Resultshavebeenfoundtovaryslightlywhenamaterialistestedatthesamecompactiveeffortindifferentsizemolds,withthesmallermoldsizetypicallyyieldinglargervaluesofdensity/unitweight(,pp.21+).1.4Ifthetestspecimencontainsmorethan5%bymassofoversizefraction(coarsefraction)andthematerialwillnotbeincludedinthetest,correctionsmustbemadetotheunitmassandmoldingwatercontentofthespecimenortotheappropriatefield-in-placedensitytestspecimenusingPracticeD4718.1.5Thistestmethodwillgenerallyproduceawell-definedmaximumdryunitweightfornon-freedrainingsoils.Ifthistestmethodisusedforfree-drainingsoilsthemaximumunitweightmaynotbewelldefined,andcanbelessthanobtainedusingTestMethodsD4253.1.6AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026,unlesssupersededbythisst......
